Urine marking is a behavioral issue, not caused by poor housebreaking or needing to urinate frequently. Marking is more common in male dogs, but some female dogs may also mark. Causes include anxiety, not being neutered or fixed, lack of exercise, medical issues, habit, and the smell of urine not properly cleaned.
